Hi, I’m Katie Diloreto. We live in Chaska, Minnesota, so pretty nearby.
[Lori] Katie, what brought you into the Functional Neurology Center?
I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and Dysautonomia. Pretty severe, its been disabling for about like eight years now.
Yep.
And we’ve tried pretty much everything else. All kinds of pills and therapies that haven’t made a difference at all. So this seemed like a really good, hopeful option for us.
[Lori] And tell us a little bit, how your experience has been here.
Its just been totally, I mean two weeks ago, I could barely, like I was crawling on the floor.
Yeah it’s amazing what you get normal, what kind of becomes your new normal in life.
I’ve had Arthritis since I was 12, so I can relate to my wife in a lot of regards, but I can’t relate to her in the fact that, she used to not really be able to stand for more than 30 seconds, and then she’d have to sit down or find something to lean on, so that she wouldn’t pass out. And this week, just day two she was standing and talking to me for two minutes and not really even thinking about it, and I was just like, “Holy cow, my wife is standing there without falling over.” And it’s both like, it’s a revelation, like how did this become my normal? And then it’s also a revelation though this is a huge opportunity for my wife to kind of find the right path of healing instead of just getting overly medicated and not really even existing.
Exactly. Just having something that actually works and that gives me something that I can have control over. Because, there was nothing that I could do that was gonna help my brain heal, besides this. That was like the last missing piece. It just gives me so much hope for the future.
[Lori] Wonderful.
I’m really grateful.
[Lori] Is there anything you would say to someone who is considering if they should come and do our full week intensive or not?
Do it. It seems like a lot of money, but it’s so worth it. Worth your health, worth your happiness, worth your relationships, and your social life. It’s worth it.
They’re really considering the cost to when you think about how much time you’re actually getting in a clinic and that you’re actually given something that you can do to take care of yourself and not just a medication or somewhere where you’re going where they’re doing something invasively. The fact that they’re giving you the tools to heal yourself, it really kind of helps you to really get your, kind of life back in order.
[Lori] Absolutely, thanks for sharing that you two. I appreciate it.
